Luobian Huayuan Sanming Study Society - First Cohort (Class of 2025)
Officially Launched, Embarking on a New Journey of Growth Together
On August 19, 2023, the first cohort of the Luobian Huayuan Sanming Study Society (Class of 2025) held its grand opening ceremony. Managers from the three major business divisions-Mingyang, Ganfeng, and Luobian-gathered for this momentous occasion. They were joined by Qiu Guilan, Vice Chairman of Huayuan New Materials; He Yufa, General Manager of Mingyang Glass Fiber; Huang Shaokang, General Manager of Ganfeng Glass Fiber; Zhang Yunchong, General Manager of Luobian Glass Fiber Chopped Strand Mat Business Unit; Kuang Honglan, Vice General Manager of Huayuan New Materials; and over 30 participants, including special guest instructor Luo Yijun, CEO of Shuaifeng Consulting, and Li Hao, lecturer at Shuaifeng Consulting. Together, under the theme of "Enlighten the Mind, Understand the Principles, Excel in the Profession," they kicked off this empowering journey of growth for managers.
01. Opening Ceremony Review
As the "ideological prelude" to the study society, the opening ceremony centered on "reawakening original aspirations and interpreting core concepts," laying a solid intellectual foundation for all participants.
Awakening the 'Sanming' Aspiration, Anchoring the Learning Journey
Counselor Gui Lan opened the session in the role of a "mentor and friend." In her interpretation of the Sanming Study Society, she emphasized its core tenets: to enlighten the mind is to see one's true nature, to understand principles is to achieve mastery, and to excel in the profession is to go far. She described the Sanming Study Society as not just a classroom for learning, but an engine for breaking through conventional thinking, implementing strategies, and fostering talent. It is also a dynamic field for co-creation, sharing, and mutual empowerment. Aligning with the carbon fiber industry's trends, she outlined an action-oriented direction of "uniting forces, breaking new ground, cultivating deeply, and innovating."
Empowering Address from the Instructor
Instructor Luo Yijun deepened the meaning of "Sanming" from the dual perspectives of philosophy and management. He explained: "Enlightening the mind is about self-insight, understanding principles is about grasping the way things work, and excelling in the profession is about recognizing the essence of the business." He also proposed a "people-oriented" value chain: "The enterprise is centered on its leaders, leaders are centered on their employees, and employees are centered on their customers." He encouraged everyone to continuously maintain professionalism and a keen mind, learn proactively and spontaneously, and strive for upward growth, setting the direction for future learning.
Certificate Awarding
Counselor Gui Lan, on behalf of the Sanming Study Society, presented Instructor Luo with the "Chief Instructor" certificate. This not only recognizes Instructor Luo's past outstanding teaching achievements but also signifies the high expectations for his future role in guiding the growth and learning of the Luobian Huayuan team.
02. The First Lesson
Strategic Planning: Grounded in Mission and Core Mindset
Instructor Luo explained that the foundation of strategic planning lies in mission and goals. The core mission of a business is to "create a customer." This requires defining customer groups, evaluating business alignment, and regularly reviewing these from a customer-centric perspective. Goals should be broken down into long-term strategic objectives and short-term execution targets, which must be clearly defined, quantifiable, and reasonably challenging.
Instructor Luo pointed out that a key aspect of strategic planning is environmental assessment. This involves analyzing the macro (domestic and international economy, politics, etc.) and meso (regional characteristics and advantages) environments. He introduced the Five Forces Model to analyze products and customer structures, while also evaluating internal resources (constituent elements, value-added processes, etc.) to leverage opportunities and mitigate threats.
He also shared the core tool of SWOT analysis to map out a company's internal Strengths (S) and Weaknesses (W) and external Opportunities (O) and Threats (T), forming a basis for strategic decision-making. He led discussions on questions like "How to leverage strengths to seize opportunities (SO)?" and "How to mitigate weaknesses to counter threats (WT)?" to distill actionable strategic directions.
This inaugural lesson provided clear frameworks and practical methods for corporate strategic planning, helping the company to move forward steadily in the market.
In-Class Practice
Working in small groups representing the Luobian, Mingyang, and Ganfeng business units, participants engaged in brainstorming sessions to conduct a preliminary SWOT analysis for their respective divisions. Through on-the-spot idea collision and solution mapping, they began to transform course content from "understanding" to "application," effectively addressing real-world challenges in their work.
03. Changxiang Session: Practical Insights from a Peer
The first "Changxiang Session" featured He Yufa, General Manager of the Mingyang Business Unit, who delivered a practical sharing session packed with valuable insights. Starting from the perspective of "identity cognition," Mr. He proposed a mindset shift from a "manager" to a "partner." He shared that "co-creation and sharing" means sharing responsibility, rights, and opportunities for growth. Drawing from industry experience, he discussed the "evergreen sunrise" nature of the glass fiber composite industry and the "Business Unit System + Co-creation and Sharing" development model.
During the interactive Q&A, participants eagerly raised their hands. Mr. He answered their questions based on his personal experiences, creating a highly enthusiastic atmosphere.
Finally, Counselor Gui Lan presented Mr. He with the "Changxiang Session Outstanding Sharer" certificate to honor his valuable contribution.
04. A Promising Future Awaits: Transforming Learning into Action
In her concluding remarks, Counselor Gui Lan emphasized that the key to learning lies in "transformation and inheritance." She expressed her hope that over the one-year course, everyone would progress from the state of "acting upon knowledge" to "gaining knowledge through action," achieving a spiral of growth.
"Returning to study after a hundred battles" - this is Counselor Gui Lan's aspiration for all participants. Enlighten the mind, understand the principles, and forge ahead together. A promising future awaits.
