Heavy duty fiberglass mesh is designed for locations needing high impact resistance, such as ground floors and other higher traffic areas. When it's embedded in the basecoat, heavy duty fiberglass mesh can spans the entire surface and distribute the pressure evenly, therefore it can keep the problems from accumulating in any single location. Comparing to regular mesh, its weight and tensile strength are almost double, which mean it can resist higher impact and keep the surface from cracking for longer period. Furthermore, it's lighter weight comparing to metal wire mesh, and rust-free, so it's the best choice as a reinforcing material for ground floors.
